The Zimbabwe Open University Journal of Applied Social Sciences (ZOUJASS) is a peer-reviewed academic journal dedicated to advancing scholarship, research dissemination, and professional dialogue in the broad field of applied social sciences. The journal provides a platform for academics, researchers, policy makers, and practitioners to share innovative research findings, theoretical insights, and practical experiences that contribute to addressing contemporary social challenges at local, regional, and global levels.

ZOUJASS aims to promote multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary research that connects theory with practice to generate knowledge that informs policy, professional practice, and sustainable development. The journal particularly encourages research that addresses societal issues affecting developing communities, while also engaging with international perspectives and scholarly debates.

The journal publishes original scholarly contributions in areas aligned with the academic programmes within the faculty, including information science and records management, psychology, peace studies, leadership and conflict resolution, counselling, special needs education, and development studies. By bringing together these diverse disciplines, ZOUJASS seeks to foster collaborative research approaches to complex social issues such as governance, human development, social justice, education, mental health, conflict transformation, and knowledge management.
