Vol. 1 No. 1 (2023): Zimbabwe International Journal of Culture and Heritage

The Zimbabwe International Journal of Culture and Heritage (ZIJCH) is a platform for discussion on African heritage. The journal is premised on the conviction that Africa is endowed with a rich legacy of cultural and natural heritage which is a key component for national-building and restoration of the people’s pride that was seriously eroded by centuries of colonial interference and the effects of globalisation. It provides researchers with an opportunity to critically reflect on, and benefit from, their heritage initiatives. ZIJCH positions for active public reflection, debate, and discussions on the material and immaterial heritage of individuals, groups, communities and nations as valuable facet of public life in our multicultural continent. Through dialoguing on heritage, the journal provides a platform for Africa’s political recognition, a medium for intercultural exchange, a means of ethical reflection, and the potential basis for local economic development.
